In the MDU bulk model the property would be responsible for purchasing the hardware and installation costs upfront. Financing is available, and then they would be billed on a monthly basis for programming by DISH Network

The property owner can either roll the costs of programming, hardware and installation into the rent or bill each tenant individually. There are three rules of bulk programming that must be followed when installing this option for a property:

 1. The service must go to 100% of the property exclusive DBS” rights on the property for a period of 10 years.

2. All tenants receive the same programming (no individual choices, NO PPV)

3. The programming cannot be marked up (management, installation, access or administrative fees etc. however may be charged), but the amount charged for programming must be the same as the amount billed to the property.

INSTALLATION SMATV System Network (Head-end)

This requires a digital satellite receiver and video modulator for each channel to be processed.

The head-end equipment delivers programming for the complex. Off-Air signals are processed and a DISH Network receiver and modulator is needed for every channel on the system. The modulator places the DISH Network channel on a television channel. By installing a private cable system, the property has the ability to select their own channel lineup to fit the demographics of the property.
